Florida
Everglades
This is just a sampling of the many species we enjoyed watching
on our recent trip through the everglades. The burrowing owls were a treat to enjoy enroute via Cape Coral
which is renowned for their countless burrows within city limits. Local sources informed us that there
were 1600 burrows marked and maintained by a small and dedicated team of volunteers. That's just the ones
they know about. Enjoy!

Bob's definite favourite this trip was the Anhinga. Their
snake-like ability to catch fish under water was mesmerizing. Once caught, the fish had to be carefully
turned around so that the body went down head first ... regardless of the size. Check out Bob's
blog in the near future for some not-so-nice captures of this rather bizzare
event.

Cormorants so close that you could touch them ... also so close
that they could easily poop on you if you were not careful.

Regardless of what Henrik might think :) ... the Great Blue
Heron is still a sight to behold.
