Bob & Candy
Cook
We're relatively new to the world
of wildlife photography, having gravitated to it only 6 years back when Candy spotted (as she so often does) a
row of young Merlins (Falcons) perched on a pine branch across the street.
That moment marked the beginning of a mutually enjoyed passion that has led to numerous trips and countless
opportunities to capture some of the most spectacular creatures on the
planet.
Candy is by
far the better spotter; a skill honed while growing up in a family that hunted big game and found sport in spotting
deer and other critters amidst the camouflage of branches and distant fields. It also explains why she is the
master of word-find puzzles. As we have discovered countless times, finding the subject is 99% of the
challenge. Capturing the moment on camera seems relatively easy after
that.
It's a compelling thrill to capture a split second of up-front
and personal wildlife behavior. We're blessed to be surrounded by some wonderful parks and really
appreciate our close proximity to the mountains. If you're out in the wild and happen to recognize our
faces, please introduce yourself ... we'ld love to exchange a story or
two.
